Agile is Hard.

Becoming Agile isn’t easy. As we say on the Agile page of our website, “Agile requires a fundamental change in how work is managed: a hard move away from the “Command and Control” form of management towards a “Leadership and Team” model.”

But we all know that change is hard. It’s difficult to adapt to a new way of doing things, whether you’re in a big or small organization. It’s even more difficult if you aren’t made aware of why change is even necessary.

Because of this, many organizations fail at Agile. They give up. Or, they settle for moderate success when they could be achieving huge results.

I wrote an article, Agile is Hard, specifically to address the role that change plays in successful Agile. In the article, I discuss eight guidelines an organization can follow to help promote and sustain the organizational changes required for Agile.

Did I miss anything? What other tips would you add for successful change?
